Dr. Kamelhar is a Pulmonary Specialist who has worked as an expert in numerous cases including World Trade Center exposure cases as well as cases related to asbestos, occupational, industrial and environmental exposure, asthma, COPD, and pulmonary testing. Dr. Kamelhar started his clinical practice in 1980 and is currently a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Kamelhar is recognized throughout the Pulmonary academic community for his work in bronchiectasis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections (NTM). His particular interests include chronic cough and the integrative approach to its diagnosis and management and cure. Additional interests include the involvement of esophageal disorders and alterations in the natural bacterial population (microbiome) in the course of mycobacterial infection and bronchiectasis. He has lectured on various topics in pulmonary medicine to both physician and lay groups in New York City and at national meetings both here and abroad.
